Martin Sarah and Phil Barnaville moved to Derbyshire in July 2000 to The Kestrel Inn at Marehay which boasts gold award winning Cask Ales and ciders and is the venue for many groups and organisations.

Martin and Sarah took over the Old Yew Tree Inn which is located in the beautiful village of South Wingfield in September 2006 and have continued to create an excellent menu choice along with a fine selection of cask ales and ciders.

We believe in using the best locally sourced food and have introduced Peak Choice beef and lamb which is exclusive to us in this area. Peak Choice is a collective of farmers who use traditional methods and the group was inspired by HRH the Prince of Wales.

Our extensive menus are designed to cater for all tastes and as they are all freshly cooked we can accommodate food intolerances and preferences.

Since moving to South Wingfield we have attracted customers from far and wide as our reputation for being a real English pub with a great food and atmosphere grows.

In September 2009 we took over The Bluebell Inn South Wingfield which had closed down and is now a great venue as a traditional drinking pub with darts, pool, skittles and Sky Sports, and along with The Kestrel we now have three excellent venues for you to enjoy.
